SSDI July 2026 Payment Announcement: Who Gets Paid and When
Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) recipients will receive their July 2026 payments on three Wednesdays during the month, or on a fixed early date, depending on when they first started benefits and their date of birth.
Here is a clear look at the July 2026 SSDI payment schedule so you can see exactly when your deposit should arrive.
You can always confirm general rules on the Social Security Administration’s SSDI page.
Standard July 2026 SSDI Payment Dates (Birthday Rule)
If you:
-
Receive SSDI only (no SSI), and
-
First started receiving Social Security benefits May 1997 or later,
then your July 2026 SSDI payment date is based on your birthday:
-
Second Wednesday – July 8, 2026
-
If your birthday is on the 1st–10th of any month, your SSDI will be paid on Wednesday, July 8, 2026.
-
-
Third Wednesday – July 15, 2026
-
If your birthday is on the 11th–20th, your SSDI will be paid on Wednesday, July 15, 2026.
-
-
Fourth Wednesday – July 22, 2026
-
If your birthday is on the 21st–31st, your SSDI will be paid on Wednesday, July 22, 2026.
-
These Wednesday-by-birthday rules follow the SSA’s standard payment structure described in its retirement/benefit timing guide.

Fixed-Date SSDI Payments in July 2026
Some SSDI beneficiaries are not on the Wednesday schedule. You may be on a fixed date if:
-
You began receiving Social Security before May 1997, or
-
You receive both SSDI (or another Social Security benefit) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI).
For this group:
-
Benefits are normally paid on the 3rd of the month.
-
In July 2026, because of the Independence Day holiday adjustment, that group’s Social Security benefit is paid on Thursday, July 2, 2026 (moved earlier from the usual 3rd due to the federal holiday schedule).
Direct Deposit and How to Double-Check Your Date
Most SSDI payments are sent by direct deposit, which means:
-
Your money is usually available on the scheduled date, depending on your bank’s posting times.
-
If the scheduled date is a holiday or weekend, the deposit is typically made on the prior business day.
